It’s Time to Broaden Your Casino Games Horizon
Most of you reading this have probably been spending a considerable amount of time playing at online casinos over the last couple of years. And chances are good that you’ve mastered blackjack, roulette, and video poker. Perhaps, you’ve even dabbled a little in craps. And when it comes to gambling there are a lot of good things to be said about sticking to what you know. It’s simply a great way of enhancing your odds of winning. But today I’m going to go against conventional gambling wisdom and tell you to try something new in the name of fun!
The world of online casino gambling is over-flowing with obscure games that can spice up any session at say Inter Casino or Golden Palace. So why not leave the blackjack table for a while to play some Casino War or Sic Bo?
To make you feel a little more comfortable trying a new casino game, I’ve put together a list of my favorites and added a brief introduction to each.
Red Dog – In this variation of the classic in-between game all cards are ranked as in poker.
You start by placing an initial wager on the table and then the dealer draws two cards face up.
- If the cards are consecutive then the hand is a push.
- If the two cards are the same a third card is dealt - a third card of the same value pays 11:1 - otherwise the hand is a push.
- If the two cards are neither consecutive nor equal the dealer declares the spread, i.e. the number of card values in between the dealt cards. For example a 5 and 9 would have a spread of 3.
You must then decide whether or not the third card dealt will fall in-between the values of the first two cards. You are also given the opportunity to increase the wager up to the amount of the first wager.
Casino War – Perhaps the easiest casino game to play, but very entertaining all the same. Again, all cards are ranked according to their poker value and aces are the highest. You and the dealer get one card each. If your card is better than the dealer's card, then you win even money. If the dealer's card is better than your card, you guessed it – you lose. If the cards are of equal value, then you may either lose half your bet or choose to go to “war” against the dealer. You also have the option of a 10:1 side bet that the two initial cards will be equal. If you choose to go to “war” you have to double your bet. The dealer then burns three cards before giving both you and himself a second card. If your second card either beats or ties the dealer's second card, then you win even money on the raise, while the original bet is a push. However, if the dealer's second card beats your second card you lose both the original and the additional bet.
Sic Bo - Sic Bo popular in such diverse parts of the world as, Korea, Nevada, and Australia. Sic Bo is played with three dice and the object of the game is to guess the individual numbers, or combinations of numbers, that will appear on the dice after the throw. As you probably already have guessed there are a great number of outcomes. The possibilities include single dice numbers, two of a kind, three of a kind, or combinations of any two or three of the dice. Look for the possible outcomes and the payoff odds on the table's layout.
Good luck at the tables!
