The first thing to remember when playing Roulette is that it is a game of statistics. The dealer spins the wheel and throws the ball, and there is an equal chance that the ball will hit each number on every play.
If the Wheel comes up black for five plays, it is statistically more likely that red will come up soon, but never certain. So stick with betting either reds or blacks but not both to raise your odds. Otherwise you will be playing the whole wheel and your chances for winning are lowered.
Don't put much stock into For Sale Roulette systems. Roulette is a game of chance; there is no secret mathematical formula that will allow you to gain an edge on the casino. There is no such thing as a biased game in any reputable casino. The casinos are watching their dealers extremely carefully for any sign of corruption.
Though winning at Roulette is never 100%, there are things you can do to maximize your chance of winning.
General Tips
- Always manage your money. Start with a certain number of units, and don’t go over that number. Decrease your bets when you are on a losing streak, and increase your bets when you are winning. If you don’t win after you allotted budget runs out, there’s always tomorrow when you may be luckier!
- Aim to stay ahead at all times as a primary objective. You will not reliably win back losses by doubling up.
Specific Tips
Do’s:
- Find a European Roulette wheel, as the odds of winning are increased, due to the fact that the wheel has one less number. European wheels are becoming more common in American casinos due to this advantage and are easy to find on-line.
- For slow play, start out with even money bets, such as red/black or low/high bets. Straight up bets may be alluring with their 35/1 payouts, but you'll probably lose your entire budget before much play.
- For fast play, choose specific numbers and Stick with them! This seems
counterintuitive, but your odds are much worse if you change numbers at any time.
- Once you’ve decided your budget, lay one unit on each number you have chosen. Plan to play three times max if you don’t win.
- If you do win, either take your win, or put it back onto the same numbers you have been playing.
- For a slower outside wager, bet an equal amount on either red and the 2nd column or black and the 3rd column for the duration of the session until you’re ahead and then quit.
Don’ts:
- Don’t wager on a five-number, or sucker bet. This is a bet on 0, 00, 1, 2, 3 and is statistically the worst odds on the wheel.
- Don’t chase your loses. If you don’t win after playing your budget, quit.
- Don’t switch your numbers if they suddenly seem unlucky, it won’t help.
- Don’t waste time calculating what numbers have come up. Casinos tend to encourage this, but it will not help you win.
