Tune in to the Ultimate Blackjack Tour

September 18th, 2006

Televised poker has become very popular during the last couple of years. Now CBS is launching a new show featuring a game that is constantly growing in popularity; blackjack. The Ultimate Blackjack Tour was aired for the first time on CBS this weekend. Some of the best poker and blackjack players in the world are playing tournament style blackjack with a first price of 1,000,000 dollars.

10 of the biggest names in the world of poker today are competing along with 100 blackjack players in the first season of the Ultimate Blackjack Tour. They compete in tournament style blackjack matches. After hand 8, 16, and 25, in each match, the player with the lowest stack is eliminated. The player with the largest stack after 30 hands is the winner.

The most well known blackjack player, among the 100 participating, is Ken Einiger. His biggest accomplishment is winning the 2005 World Series of Blackjack. In the show are also the two World Series of Poker winners Phil Hellmuth and Johnny Chan (with a total of 20 WSOP bracelets between them).

Robert Williamson III is one of the poker pros that participate, and he says that the blackjack players are different from the typical poker player. “Poker players go from boring all the way to eccentric, “ he said in a recent interview. “The top blackjack players in the world? They have us hands down beaten on the eccentric side. They are definitely colorful characters.” So tune in to CBS for an exciting and entertaining TV extravaganza.
