Poker Games

The game of poker consists of many different variations, in total there are more than 120 forms of poker although most people only play three poker games. The most popular forms of poker are Texas Hold.em, Omaha and Seven-Card Stud.

Texas Hold'em and Omaha are the two games that have most in common by that they are community card games, but in Texas Hold'em two cards are dealt to each player whereas four cards are dealt in Omaha. Seven-Card Stud is a poker game where each player gets seven cards to make the best poker hand.

Texas Hold'em is the most popular form of poker, mainly because of online poker and televised poker tournaments. Omaha was a very popular game in the eighties and nineties before the expansion of Texas Hold'em. Today Omaha is still played a lot both in Europe and the US. Seven-Card stud is popular in Europe and on the east coast in USA.
