You may use any five of your eight cards in the showdown to form your lowest poker hand. With so many cards, you'll probably need a seven-high (or lower) with no pairs to win the pot. |
Black Mariah is dealt just like regular 7-card stud. However, in order to win, a player MUST have TWO of the following three things: best hand, high spade in the hole, low spade in the hole. If no player has this at the showdown, the game is redealt with all players still in throwing in another ante (once you fold in this game, you're out for it's duration.
ALSO: if the queen of spades is dealt up at any time, the game is immediately redealt with all players still in throwing in another ante. Strategy tips: if you don't have a good hand but do have the high or low spade in the hole, you should stay in as there is a good chance that you'll stop another player frow winning (which of course, results in a redeal), likewise if you have a powerful hand but no spades.
